System Requirements

  • 64-bit Windows 10 or 11
  • ~600 MB disk space + additional storage for files
  • Internet connection to join the beta; offline up to 14 days after

Get Started

  1. Click Download for Windows and run StarCAT Setup.
  2. Click I Agree, leave Only for me selected, click Next, then Install. No administrator rights needed.
  3. On the last screen, leave Run StarCAT checked and click Finish. The Join the StarCAT Beta box opens. After that, open StarCAT from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut.
  4. Enter your email, choose Reporter or Scopist and your current CAT software, and click Join the Beta.
  5. Connect your writer in Realtime > Writer, add your Dictionary in Dictionaries, and start writing with File > New Job.

Price

  • Free during the beta.

Post-Beta

  • Free: all features, with a 50-page cap on printing and exports. Writing and Realtime have no limit.
  • Reporter, $49 a month: full program, no page cap.
  • Scopist, $19 a month: all the features of Reporter without translation.
